i'm not sure how serious i am about this change ... it worked for me

 ...

 ...

but puppet has a lot of notions of a global catalog of everything on the system, and this doesn't make thing unique.  for example; i still don't think you could install the same package in two different virtualenvs as it would conflict and puppet wouldn't know they were unique
