Ben Nemec 9e7ee5dd5c Add python36 job to repo 
Also fixes a python 3 issue that was causing these tests to fail.

Note that I don't think we need to worry about supporting py35 in
this repo. I believe the only python 3 platforms we'll ever use it
on are py36 or higher.
